Namaskär,

For the first time I heard about the Icelandic group "Amiina" today, June 23, on shortwave.

When I Googled them up, one of the bloggers who 'filters' music had something on them, but the Wiki had the best information you could get on the group in five minutes.

Still, I have this thing about the English language. Listening and speaking it is no problem. Its the 'looking' at it in text form that, figuratively, gets my goat.

The darn thing uses a nonphonetic script in four cases, punctuation and wonky grammar. It's called the 'Roman script', although what the Romans had to do with it is buried somewhere in a time capsule. Maybe, they bunged it under the Pope's bed.

Or it could be those Jesuit monks, cloistered somwhere in the Alps; their aching celibacy may have finally got to their heads and they decided they'd do something to traumatize generation after generation of English-as-first-languagers who chose get an education and become literate.

It's amazing!
